In a new feature this season I will post my Player of the Month based on his GIF moments that have appeared on the site for that month.
With only 2 competitive games in August, there is not too much to choose from so I will throw in some of the pre season action.
So here we go…
The Beautifully Red Player of the Month for August is… Shinji Kagawa.
Signed from Borrussia Dortumnd in the summer for £12m, Shinji Kagawa has already made an impression on his team mates and Man United fans with his clever footballing brain and a beautiful touch, allowing him to already produce some magical moments on the site.
Here are my top GIF picks for August…
1. Shinji Kagawa Goal – Hannover v Manchester United 11/8/12
Shinji Kagawa completed a brilliant United comeback to seal a pre season win versus Hannover. He makes an intelligent run and then shows great composure to find the far corner.
2. Link play with Wayne Rooney (Everton v Manchester United 20/8/12)
Kagawa demonstrates his clever play by linking well with Wayne Rooney. Some quick interchanges between the 2 almost sees him free inside the box.
3. Pass for Danny Welbeck chance (Everton v Manchester United 20/8/12)
Here he showed his ability to take control and be a player to make things happen. He receives the ball deep and plays a 1-2 with Rooney as he moves forward. He then plays a lovely through ball to Danny Welbeck who is denied a real shot at goal by some good defending.
4. Touch and Pass (Everton v Manchester United 20/8/12)
Brilliant touch to evade the oncoming defender and then a beautiful outside of the boot pass into the run of Wayne Rooney.
5. Footwork and shot (Manchester United v Fulham 25/8/12)
Shinji Kagawa shows off his great footwork to find the space to get a shot away. Unfortunately his side footed effort comes back off the post.
He did get his goal versus Fulham, reacting quickest to tap home a saved Cleverley shot HERE
So, Congratulations to Shinji Kagawa, Beautiful Reds Player of the Month for August.
