23/9/12 Liverpool v Man Utd: 5 Beautiful GIF Moments

Manchester Uniteds recent Anfield performances have not been much to write about, and this one was not much different as Liverpool dominated the first half. Then came the moment that changed the game as Liverpool were rightly reduced to 10 men. Man Utd, with Paul Scholes subbed on, were able to get into the game and after going 1-0 down, came back to win 2-1 and leave Anfield with all 3 points!

After a quiet first half, United were improved in the 2nd and gave us several moments to enjoy. Here are my top 5 GIFs from the game

1. Nani Skill Nutmeg

Nani, who was subbed at HT and very poor half, did give us one moment of brilliance with this backheeled nutmeg!

2. Paul Scholes skill

As the ball is laid off to Scholes, he resists the urge to shoot and produced a great moment of skill as he lifts the ball over the oncoming tackle and gets himself into the area.

3. Robin van Persie Skill

Lovely skill from Van Persie as he controls the ball on his chest and then flicks the ball over the defender to get away from him and drive forward.

4. Paul Scholes pass

Vintage Paul Scholes as he chests the ball down and then plays an almost no look, outside of the boot lobbed pass out wide to Antonio Valencia.

5. Antonio Valencia pace/desire/strength

Valencia demonstrated his entire game in one moment as he uses he pace and determinatation to get to a lose Liverpool pass first and then showed his strength to ride the 2 tackles and accerlate away into the Liverpool area. As he goes past the defender to have a shot, he gets clipped and wins a penalty.

    There are 5 Nani moments in the bonus section!

      I have seen those but they are not even as good as the ones he supplied hernandez and van persie towards the end of the match! There’s a perception Nani had a woeful game against Galatasaray but these gifs can point to the fact that he was the best player on the night – He had a poor first half though!
